The Town of Van Buren is served by the Lakeside, Northwest (Baldwinsville/Lysander) and Warners/Memphis Fire Districts.  These districts are separate from the town, run by their own Boards of Fire Commissioners, create independent budgets and possess taxing authority.  Below you will find information regarding their meetings, public hearings, budgets and elections.

LAKESDIE FIRE DISTRICT MONTHLY MEETING

Please take note that the monthly business meeting of the Lakeside Fire District of the Town(s) of Geddes and Van Buren, County of Onondaga, State of New York will be held on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 P.M. at the fire station located at 1002 State Fair Blvd., Syracuse, NY 13209.

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Lakeside Fire District of the Town(s) of Geddes and Van Buren, County of Onondaga, New York will hold its regular business meetings for the year 2019 on the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 o’clock P.M. at the fire station located at 1002 State Fair Blvd; Syracuse, NY 13209. All meetings of the Lakeside Fire District are open to the public.

This notice is being posted in accordance with the provisions of Section 94 of the Public Officers Law of the State of New York.

SPECIAL ELECTION

NOTICE OF SPECIAL ELECTION for FIRE COMMISSIONER of Warners Memphis Fire District. Pursuant to and in accordance with Town Law § 174, this SPECIAL ELECTION will take place on January 24, 2019 at the Warners Memphis Fire Department at 6444 Newport Road, Warners, New York 13164. This Special Election is between Mark Kolinski and Dennis Kiteveles for the position of Fire Commissioner for a Term of Office of four (4) years. Polls will be open from 6pm to 9pm. All voters registered with the Onondaga County Board of Elections, who are residents of the fire district for thirty (30) days preceding the election, shall be eligible to vote.
